ElIMG_20240201_135808[1] amor a la patria, junto con la amistad y el paisaje, constituyen las líneas temáticas fundamentales en la obra poética de Carlos M. de Céspedes. La tendencia a poemas extensos de gran fuerza épica, así como cierto sentido filosófico-sentimental de corte lírico, hacen de esta poseía una muestra interesante de madurez política y sensibilidad literaria, aun cuando se descubran conocidas influencias románticas

Resumen biográfico

Carlos Manuel Perfecto del Carmen de Céspedes y López del Castillo

NacióCespedes el 18 de abril de 1819, en la villa de San Salvador de Bayamo en el Oriente de Cuba.

Abogado revolucionario cubano que inició las guerras por la independencia en Cuba contra el régimen colonial de España proclamando el 10 de octubre de 1868 su determinación de independencia o muerte y la libertad de sus esclavos.

Céspedes es considerado por todos los cubanos el Padre de la Patria, también fue Mayor general del Ejército Libertador de Cuba y primer Presidente de la República de Cuba en Armas.

Murió en combate frente a tropas españolas el 27 de febrero de 1874  a los 54 años
